2023-2024 Changes....

I’m so excited for another season filled with events for our homeschool community. It is such a joy to see the kids at each event happy with huge smiles. For me, their smiles are the best part of volunteering. To ensure their smiles never fade we’ve taken additional steps in safety and security.

Each event will have a minimum of one Huntsville City Police Officer, venue security, and of course our wonderful parent volunteer security team as well as the parent chaperones. The world around us is forever changing requiring us to change as well. We started at prom last year using metal detector wands. I was amazed at a few prohibited items we did find but so thankful we did not encounter any item that would be deemed dangerous. Metal detector wands will now be used at every teen event. We also understand parents want their children safe walking to and from a venue. We respect there may be times a teen carries a mace keychain and or a pocketknife. In this situation we have a system in place during check-in, these two items can be left in a Ziplock bag with the attendee’s name listed. The item will be placed securely at our help desk with a parent volunteer until the attendee is ready to leave the event.

To also keep each attendee safe, we have implemented no longer selling tickets at the door for events. When doing this we realize we do not gain all the pertinent information needed about your teen in case an emergency was to arise. By purchasing tickets beforehand via ticketspice, our new ticket system, we will have the necessary information on hand if needed.

Lastly, I’m VERY excited to announce that we will be going back to our traditional way of gaining parent volunteers. During COVID so many things were done to keep everyone safe. I personally missed getting to meet those that are interested in getting involved face-to-face. Signing up via a link and coming an hour before an event just doesn’t work for us. We want to meet you, be able to put a face with the name, have a conversation and most importantly let you know just how much we appreciate you getting involved. Without you, the parents getting involved, none of these events will happen. It takes a village to put on events, traditionally the homeschool community has been its own village, come to a meeting, meet us, learn how to help, and join the Timeless Homeschool Village. We have meetings every 3rd Saturday at the Madison Public Library. Each meeting we will go over what volunteer positions or committee positions are needed to make the next or future even possible. We have plenty of volunteer opportunities on committees or even parent chaperone volunteers for the day or night of the actual event.

Follow our Facebook, Instagram, and website to stay up to date on meeting times, stay in the know of changes, or simply enjoy pictures we may post. Our digital media outlets are filled with so much information. My name is Jaime and we can't wait to meet YOU!
