Luau Summer Kick Off

Will this event be indoors?  No, this is an OUTDOOR event.  In the case of bad weather, we will reschedule for another date.

What is a Middle School Summer Kickoff?  This is the Second Annual Middle School Summer Kick-off.  This event will be a time to gather with other middle schoolers to hang out with friends and have FUN!   There will be games, activities, food, and music to listen to or dance to.  

When is the Summer Kick-off?  The Middle School Summer Kick-off will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from 6 pm to 9:00 pm.  


Where will the Summer Kick-off be held?  Grisham Pavilion at Huntsville Botanical Gardens 4747 Bob Wallace Ave Sw., Huntsville, AL 35805

Is there a theme?  This year's Summer Kick-off is a Hawaiian-themed Luau party for middle schoolers.  

Is there a dress code?   This is an outdoor event; please dress for the weather!  We do not allow any attire that in any way resembles or reflects violence, is indecent, or anything illegal.  Anyone wearing such attire will be turned away at the door, and your ticket will not be refunded.  

​Who can attend this event?  All Alabama and Tennessee Valley area homeschool middle school students, regardless of cover school.  Homeschoolers may invite up to two non-homeschooled guests.  Again, this event is for middle school ONLY.  Any tickets purchased younger than 11 or older than 14 will be voided without a refund.

How much are the tickets, and how do I get tickets for the Middle School Summer Kick-off?   A limited number of Early Bird tickets will be available for $15 on January 7, 2024. On February 7th, tickets are $20. On March 7th, tickets are 25.00. All online ticket sales end on May 5th at 6:00 PM.

How will I check in at the dance?  You must print your tickets to hand in at the check-in station, or you can show us the QR code on your phone.  Tickets can be printed when you purchase your ticket.  

Will food be served?  YES!  We will have lots of food!  Pizza, chicken, little smokies, fruit, candy, desserts, and even smores'.  We will also have plenty of beverages. 

 
Can parents attend this event?  NO, as with all our events, this is a time for friends to hang out with each other.  Parents may attend if they chaperone or volunteer.  Timeless Homeschool Events take the safety of your children VERY seriously!!  

Where does my parent drop me off and pick me up?  Parents may accompany their children to check-in.  Parents will be required to pick their child up from the same check-in area at the end of the party.  Pick-up is no later than 9:00 p.m.  If an attendee leaves before 9:00 p.m., they cannot return to the party.  We will NOT allow any child to meet their parent in the parking lot area for safety reasons.  All pick-ups must be done in the front area where the chaperones are located. (Strictly enforced) 

What kind of music will be played at the Summer Kick-off?  Can I make requests?  Music for the Summer Kick-off will be provided by a professional DJ, who will play various songs. There will be no profanity; radio edits of songs will be played. The Planning Committee (comprised of parents and teens) works closely with the DJ to ensure no offensive music is played. You may make song requests by emailing timelesscommittee@gmail.com; the Committee will consider all requests for appropriateness.  All song requests must be submitted no later than April 7, 2023.

Will there be a professional photographer at The Summer Kick-off?  No. We will have a photo station set up with props and costumes.  We will have a volunteer available to take pictures with our digital camera.  Of course, if your child has a cell phone, they are welcome to take pictures independently.  

Will there be chaperones? Yes, there will be chaperones at the party.  Chaperones are selected from adult volunteers at the sole discretion of the Planning Committee.  Most of our chaperones have volunteered with Timeless Homeschool Events for several years. If you would like to serve as a chaperone for the Summer Kick-off, please contact timelesscommittee@gmail.com. Please contact us if you have special needs, questions, or concerns.

Timeless Homeschool Events has a ZERO tolerance policy for any BULLYING,  alcohol, drugs, smoking, or misconduct. Our chaperones will escort anyone necessary to the front.  We will call your parent to come and pick you up from the party.  

NO weapons, including any gun or knife, of any sort, any kind, in any form, are allowed on the premises for any reason whatsoever.  Public displays of affection are unacceptable. This includes sitting on laps, making out, and inappropriate dancing (grinding, moshing, dirty dancing, twerking, etc..) Outside food and drink are not allowed.

Any complaints or concerns should be brought directly to a Planning Committee member or chaperone.
